Fluid Controls and Components, Inc. (FCCI) Recognized by Bechtel for Outstanding Performance on Nuclear, Security and Environmental Projects

FCCI Honored for its Commitment to Excellence and Quality

Richland, Washington FCCI was recognized for outstanding work on projects by Bechtel's Nuclear, Security & Environmental global business unit at the Bechtel Subcontractor and Supplier Recognition awards. The awards recognize subcontractors and suppliers who supported Bechtel's work in nuclear power, environmental clean-up, defense, and nuclear security and operations projects during 2014.

"Our vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers are integral team members on our projects and they do amazing, innovative work in extremely difficult places," said Craig Albert, president of the Nuclear, Security & Environmental business unit. "These award recipients not only met our high standards for quality and performance and but also went above and beyond for mission delivery."

"Our Success is through our association with good companies," said Russ Watson, Vice President of FCCI.

FCCI completed a complex valve contract in 2014 which required extensive engineering and technical planning. FCCI accepted the undertaking which required valves meet NQA-1, including Underwriters Laboratories certification. FCCI's technical knowhow provided the platform for project execution and success. Valves were delivered on time and within budget to Bechtel Nuclear, Security & Environmental.

Companies were evaluated on multiple factors. They include: overall performance; the ability to deliver quality services/supplies on time; the ability to work collaboratively to meet milestones; and meeting or exceeding project expectations in aspects of safety, construction performance, technical expertise, and environmental compliance. Nominations were reviewed and approved by Bechtel procurement and project managers. Final recommendations were approved by senior leadership.

FCCI is an NQA-1 valve and testing group located on the Hanford Reservation. Early in 2015, FCCI developed a fabrication division and recently completed its first contract for a project in Aiken, SC. FCCI's second fabrication contract (Completed June 2015) for a project on Hanford Nuclear Reservation was a great success! Plans are to expand the Kingsgate Way operation in the near future. The expanded operation will provide material dedication and fabrication services for a wide range of nuclear related applications.
